WATCH: Megan Young, first Filipino Miss World passes the crown to Miss World 2014

Filipinos took pride as she bagged home the title as the first Filipina who was has been crown as the Miss World. Since then, Megan Young did her part to do her part as the reigning Miss World 2013.

According to Megan, being Miss World is not all about beauty and glamour. It is about having the kind heart and putting yourself into the shoes of others even if it takes going into dirt and not wearing make up on.

In a previous interview with her, she gave out all the characteristics that might win the crown of Miss World 2014. She said that one must be genuine and patient.

She also mentioned that being a hailed as the Miss World 2013 was a hard job because it requires all her time. It was a non-stop humanitarian work. She even mentioned that there were times that she couldn't even see her family anymore. But those hardworks are really what she wanted to do.


As she passed on the crown to the next Miss World, she looked back on her journey to achieveing what eshe has right now. She is very thankful for all the learnings that the Miss World pagaent had given her. She was honored for the wonderful experience that she has gained in the competition.

Megan Young said. “It's such an incredible experience to be the first Filipino Miss World... It's not just a legacy for myself, but a legacy for the Filipinos."
